This page provides information on sightseeing spots and ski resorts around Furano.
Furano Ski Resort is one of the largest ski resorts in Hokkaido and has even hosted the World Cup.
It consists of two areas, the Furano Zone and the Kitanomine Zone, and while there are gentle slopes for beginners, the course layout is varied enough to keep even advanced skiers occupied. The longest run is a 4 km cruise with a spectacular view of the Daisetsuzan mountain range.。
Furano Ski Resort has been attracting a lot of attention from domestic and international skiers and snowboarders in recent years.
Furano's inland location makes its powder snow (one of?) the best in Hokkaido.
Both the Furano and Kitanomine zones offer free shuttles for hotel guests during the skiing and snowboarding season.

Shirogane Blue Pond This is a mysterious pond where the surface of the water looks blue. Standing dead larch trees create a mystical atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy various blue colors depending on the season and weather. In spring, when a lot of snowmelt water flows into the pond, the water looks greenish blue (green), and in early summer, many days it looks light blue.
